I am homesick for a place
I am not sure even exists.
One where my heart is full
My body loved. And my soul understood
ผมคิดถึงบ้าน ณ. ที่แห่งหนึ่ง
ซึ่งผมก็ไม่แน่ใจว่ามันมีอยู่
ที่แห่งนั้นหัวใจของผมถูกเติมเต็ม, ร่างกายของผมถูกรัก
และจิตวิญญาณของผมถูกเข้าใจ

Some talk to you in their free time, and some free their time to talk to you.
บางคนคุยกับคุณตอนที่เขามีเวลาว่าง, และบางคนทำเวลาให้ว่างเพื่อคุยกับคุณ

if you live for people’s acceptance, you will die from their rejection.
ถ้าคุณมีชีวิตเพื่อให้คนอื่นยอมรับ, คุณจะตายตอนที่พวกเขาปฏิเสธ

The real drive to understand the self, though, comes not from the need to develop treatments, but from a more deep-seated urge that we all share: the desire to understand ourselves. Once self-awareness emerged through evolution, it was inevitable that an organism would ask, ― Who am I? Across vast stretches of inhospitable space and immeasurable time, there suddenly emerged a person called Me or I. Where does this person come from? Why here? Why now? You, who are made of star-dust, are now standing on a cliff, gazing at the starlit sky pondering your own origins and your place in the cosmos.
พลังที่แท้จริงที่ทำให้พวกเราต้องการรู้จักตัวเอง,ความคิด, ไม่ได้มาจากความจำเป็นในการพัฒนาวิธีรักษาโรค, แต่มาจากความต้องลึกลงไปภายในซึ่งพวกเราทุกคนล้วนมี : ความปรารถนาที่จะเข้าใจตัวของพวกเราเอง ซึ่งความรู้สึกว่ามีตัวตนนี้มันเกิดขึ้นมาตลอดวิวัฒนาการ, จนมันหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ที่สิ่งมีชีวิตนี้จะตั้งคำถามว่า, ―ฉันเป็นใคร ? ท่ามกลางจักรวาลที่เวิ้งว้างและเวลาอนันต์, อยู่ๆ มันก็เกิดคนๆ หนึ่งขึ้นมาแล้วเรียกตัวเองว่า “เรา” หรือ “ฉัน”. คนๆ นี้มาจากไหน ? มาอยู่ตรงนี้ทำไม ? ทำไมต้องเป็นเวลานี้ ? คุณนะถูกสร้างมาจากฝุ่นของดวงดาว, และตอนนี้ก็กำลังยืนอยู่ริมหน้าผา, จ้องมองไปที่ท้องฟ้าที่ดาวระยิบ แล้วกำลังงงงวยกับต้นกำเนิดของตัวเองและหาที่ยืนของตัวเองในจักรวาล

Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.
บางครั้งมนุษย์เราจะยึดมั่นกับความเชื่อหนึ่งอย่างที่สุด และเมื่อพวกเขาได้พบกับหลักฐานที่แสดงว่าความเชื่อนั้นผิด พวกเขาจะปฏิเสธหลักฐานนั้น เพราะว่ามันเกิดความรู้สึกที่ขัดแย้งภายในอย่างรุนแรง, ความรู้สึกนั้นเรียกว่า  Cognitive Dissonance  และเพราะว่ามันมีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องปกป้องความเชื่อ พวกเขาก็จะสร้างข้ออ้าง, เพิกเฉย, หรือแม้กระทั้งปฏิเสธดื้อๆ กับอะไรก็ตามที่ไม่สอดคล้องกับความเชื่อตัวเอง

If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims.
ถ้าวิทยาศาสตร์สามารถพิสูจน์ได้แน่ชัดว่าความเชื่อบางอย่างในพุทธศาสนาผิด,  เราก็ควรต้องยอมรับการค้นพบทางวิทยาศาสตร์นั้นและเลิกความเชื่อผิดนั้น
